After a good but warm night’s sleep in a real bed, we had breakfast and headed off to pick up our day hire boat. Picked up bits for lunch on the way. Not much to say, except the Llangollen Canal was just as we remembered it, peaceful, busy, one boat wide, 2 boats wide but good fun. Lots of boats going both ways, almost more in the one day than we saw in the whole Stourport Ring week. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was still spectacular, but we only had time to make one return crossing. We did stop on the other side and walk up to the Aqueduct Hotel for a drink on their deck, overlooking the canal. Surprise, Surprise, more canal photos.
Well looks like a traffic jam here Rick - dodgem boats.....
ReplyDeleteAh yes, remember the aqueduct well. Were you on what is called "not a real boat" (refer last night's blog)!!
ReplyDeleteThe "not a real boat" refers to a fibreglass cruiser. The day hire boat at least is a vary short narrowboat.
