Wovereley on Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal Friday

We left the very quiet overnight mooring around 9am.

Passed down the 16 Stourbridge locks, mostly following a slower boat, so we helped them with some of the lock gates to speed things up. Stopped for coffee near the bottom of the flight of locks. Passed through the 4 Stourton locks, joined the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal and filled up with water just near the Stewponey lock. Lunch near the Stewponey Bridge. Through the short Dunsley Tunnel, down through Kinver, through the Cookley Tunnel (only 65 yards long) and on to Wolverely where we have stopped for the night. 27 locks, 2 tunnels and about 10 miles today.

Downed a nice beer in “The Lock” pub right beside the canal. Back on the boat (only about 100 m from the pub) for a good pasta bake meal. Will visit the pub to upload the blog using their free wifi.

Here we are under the left umbrella.

This is what our boat looks like inside.

  1. Your boat looks very comfortable inside and the weather good. You seem to have negotiated so many locks, our 6 over 4 days looks quite wimpy by comparison
