Hanbury Junction–Where the Droitwich Canal meets the Worcester & Birmingham Canal Sunday

Another stunning.still morning to wake up to. The weather for the whole Canal time has been superb. We were grateful when we were able to find shade.

Just more of the same (probably to our readers, if there are any), but still so enjoyable to us with many varied outlooks, locks and bridges. It’s sad that we are at the wrong end of the week, and we have to have the boat back by 9:30 tomorrow morning.

We went through 3 swing bridges today, another first. Had Canal & River Trust volunteers helping with the flight of 3 entering the Worcester & Birmingham Canal. Made it easy. Great volunteering gig.

Today’s tally is: 12 locks and 6 miles, ending with a pint for John & Rick and a G&T for Joan & Gill at the canalside pub 50 metres from where we have moored for the night. We are about 1/2 hour from the boat yard where we take the boat back to.

  1. Have only just resumed your blog since I wasn't expecting updates along the way. Your canal trip looks fantastic - I really want to do one too!
