Up early this morning to get to the ferry that took us to Hook of Holland. We had a very easy drive to the Port of Harwich, traffic moved well. joined the queue to check in and get our boarding pass, didn’t take long, then drove straight through British border control and joined the queue to board the ferry. We upgraded to allow us to use the Stena Lounge, comfortable seats, free coffee (good coffee), nibbles and wine, away from the rabble. Felt important inputting a code to get into the lounge.
Very smooth crossing, only occasionally felt the boat move. We arrived in the Netherlands around 5 pm local time. We set the GPS for the hotel in Delft and it indicated 120 or so miles to go. It took a few minutes for the GPS to find our actual location, but then off we went. We were able to change the digital readout in the car to imperial to use in UK, we now have to work out again how to change it, back to metric. It was useful following other vehicles from the port, helps with getting used to driving on the right. We will explore Delft tomorrow and will be in Rotterdam for the night. The hotel in Delft was booked out for tomorrow night and Rotterdam is near by.
