What a wet day! We left Kirkcaldy, skirted around Edinburgh and drove to North Berwick, which was supposed to be a pretty coastal village (according to a Google search). It was OK, but nothing like yesterday’s villages and harbours. We did go to the Scottish Sea Birds Centre to have coffee with a view over the water.
Still raining, so we headed towards Berwick upon Tweed. Rick was distracted by a sign that said Moreton Motor Museum. What better thing to do on a wet day, especially if there is nothing else around. Good little museum and slowed us by half an hour or so. They had a mix of “original condition” vehicles and restored ones. Love the Zephyr.
In the Scottish Borders region we bassed through a very eerie wind farm. The cloud was low and wind turbines were on either side of the road. We sat and watched these majestic structures for a while. It’s a pity that photos don’t convey the feeling.
On through Berwick upon Tweed, with a “follow the nose” detour to get a better view of the 3 bridges.
We are now at a farm B&B just south of Berwick upon Tweed, planning the detail for the next couple of busy days. It’d be good if the rain stayed away. Not raining now, clear but grey.
