We
repacked our stuff this morning, to fit into our 2 cases and overnight bags.
Don’t know why things don’t fit as they should. We had an easy drive into
Paris, stopping, dare we admit it, at McDonalds, beside the main road, for
coffee. It wasn’t too bad. Not long before, we had turned off into a small town
to find coffee, but the town seemed to have everything except cafes, it even
had roadworks diversion.
The
traffic for the last hour was quite heavy, but flowed and wasn’t too traumatic.
“She” directed us efficiently right to the drop off garage. We gave the car a
good clean yesterday afternoon and, of course, it rained today, so the car had
a good coating of road grime and dirt.
The
hand back only took 10 minutes and we were on our own. The metro was only about
200 metres away and after one change of trains, we were at our local station.
The apartment is about 100 metres from the metro, in a lively area with lots of
eating places and little supermarkets and right behind the Pompidou Centre.
After
realising that the entry code was not the address postcode and entering the
correct one, we were inside an attractive courtyard. Another door code to get
into the right building, then another to get the key out of the key safe on the
door and we were inside. It’s a very small space, as are many Paris apartments,
but big enough for us. There is a very small kitchen/sitting area opening on
one side to the bedroom, and on another side, to the bathroom.
Opened
the 2nd bottle of floc from Joan and John, thanks Joan & John.

About 9,000 kms overall (and two visits to McDonalds in a week!!!) Nice work.
